January Cricket Camps - Hastings

Many thanks to those who indicated their interest in the above camps for 2012. We are now in the process of applying for funding and putting teams together.
For those who have registered if you could please confirm attendance and those who were undecided please confirm if you wish to come and we will attempt to make up teams accordingly.
This will be done on a first in basis. Please advise if you would like to attend by the 22nd November.

About tournament:
For yr 8's (based on the year they are playing in 2011) the tournament will run from 8-11 January 2012
This tournament is a fabulous opportunity for children of all abilities to enjoy cricket camp and play numerous games of cricket in lovely conditions, against teams from all over the North Island the only condition is that you must love cricket!
On the first day the teams play a game in the afternoon, 2 games on day 2 and 3 and then a game in the morning on day 4.
These camps are very well run and accommodation for the boys is at Riverbend camp. Many of our current Year 8s have been attending since Year 5.

Cost/funding:
If the club is successful in obtaining funding then we will subsidise the camps. The maximum cost will be $180 but we hope this will be a lot less. The cost includes accommodation, tournament fee, meals for a team of up to 12 + 2 adults.
A $40 deposit made to the club account is needed to confirm participation by the 1st of December. Please deposit to club account 06 0582017020100 with child�s name and year and HB for Hawke's Bay e.g. Hamish Johns Y8 HB . The deposit will be refunded if you have to pull out due to being selected to play in a Wellington Zone tournament by the club should the dates clash with camp.

Parental help:
The reality of these camps is that a lot of support is required by parents to make this a successful and enjoyable time for families.
Each team will need a coach and manager these need not be those that you have for your Saturday competitions - it's a good opportunity for parents to be involved that may not normally be available to help.
2 adults per team (ideally males) need to stay at camp with the boys. These parents stay on site but in separate motel style accommodation. This doesn-t have to be the coach or manager but can be anyone willing to be responsible for getting results in, getting the kids to do the chores, getting them up in time for breakfast and getting them to sleep before breakfast!!
Help will also be required for transporting teams to and from games and we will need to supply umpires and scorers and this must be shared fairly

Once teams are sorted the club will submit your entry form and sort out the payments after that teams are able to communicate with each other to take over the arrangements.

What you need to do now:
Confirm if your child is wanting to attend the cricket camp by the 22nd November (reply to this email)
Pay $40 deposit to club bank account by 1st December
Advise if you are able to stay at the camp with a team
Advise if you are willing to be a coach/manager for a team

If you have siblings a year apart and would like them to attend the same cricket camp please let us know.
