Premier Men

Premier 1

The Eastern Suburbs Premier 1st XI competes in Cricket Wellington’s Premier 1 grade – the highest level of club cricket in the region. Captained by Felix Murray, the team features a well-balanced mix of experienced players and rising talent, all united by a strong commitment to performance, development, and team-first values.

As the flagship team of the club, the Premier 1st XI sets the tone both on and off the field, upholding Easts’ long-standing tradition of competitive, disciplined, and spirited cricket. The squad trains hard, plays harder, and represents what it means to wear the Easts cap with pride.

We’re proud to be the 2024/25 T20 Championship winners – a reflection of the depth, skill, and culture that drives the team forward.

Premier Reserve

Premier Reserve 1

The Eastern Suburbs Premier Reserve  competes in Cricket Wellington’s Premier Reserve 1 grade

This team serves as a key pathway for our college leavers and younger club players, providing the perfect platform to transition into senior men’s cricket. With a strong coaching framework and close alignment to the Premier 1st XI, players in the Reserve squad are given every opportunity to grow their game, gain experience, and push for higher honours.

While focused on development, the Premier Reserve team remains a serious competitor in its own right – blending emerging talent with experienced heads to create a balanced, performance-focused side. It’s a vital part of the Easts system and a proud contributor to the club’s long-term success.

3rd XI

Senior Division 3

Our 3rd XI currently competes in Division 6 and plays a vital role in the development pathway at Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club. This team provides a competitive environment for our emerging young players to gain valuable experience and confidence at a senior level. It works closely alongside our Premier Reserve side, offering a platform for talented cricketers to step up, refine their skills, and push for higher honours within the club.

Vintage

Vintage Pool A

Eastern Suburbs Vintage XI Still got it… just in slower motion.

The Eastern Suburbs Vintage Team is where glorious cricketing comebacks happen – featuring club legends, social ring-ins, and anyone who still owns a pair of whites (even if they’ve “shrunk in the wash”). It’s the perfect way to stay involved with the club, share a few laughs, and remind the young guns that class is permanent, even if the hamstrings aren’t.

Proud winners of Vintage Pool A for the 2024/25 season, proving once and for all that age and experience can outsmart youth and enthusiasm – especially when there’s a jug on the line.

Leopards

Intercity One Day Division 1

Eastern Suburbs Leopards: Tight-knit. Laser-focused. Lethal on the field.

The Leopards are a more serious outfit – a close group of mates who bring sharp skills, strong connections, and a competitive mindset to every match. They don’t say much, but they let their cricket do the talking.

Backed by trust, discipline, and plenty of experience together, the Leopards are built for performance. Whether chasing down totals or defending tight scores, they stay composed under pressure and play with purpose. A side that’s hard to break into – and even harder to beat.

Shepherds

Intercity One Day Division 2

Eastern Suburbs Shepherds. Where good chat meets good cricket.

The Shepherds are the perfect blend of social spirit and competitive fire – a team where the group chat hums as much as the batting order. Whether it’s celebrating Jake’s century fresh off dad duty, Alex’s career-best knock, or Karl quietly collecting every batting trophy in sight, this side knows how to get it done while keeping it fun.

Winners of the 3rd place final for 2024/25, the Shepherds continue to build momentum with a core of committed players and a healthy respect for both post-match beers and pre-match warmups (we’re getting there). With a few more hitting pre-season, there’s no doubt this team is on the rise. A top bunch to be part of – and one to watch.
